Russian Traditions and Customs.

There are some interesting peculiarities which only the Russians can have and it is very useful to know about them. Or you occasionally can lose Russian friends among men and women. I'll try to name some common peculiarities of the Russian women and Russian people character and to itemize some things that Russians like and dislike. If you were happy enough to meet a person whose character concludes different kinds of strange things. I can assure you that the man or woman has the exact Russian soul and should be treated with special respect. They are the nation which values freedom of spirit. They usually hate the silly rules. Some drivers can cross the complete line on the highway or go in spite of the red signal of the traffic lights. Usually Russian drivers are rather rude and they don't like let the pedestrians by on the zebras. Some of them think that it is cool to do nothing but lie on the sofa thinking that he's a tough guy.

In real life Russia is a wonderful country and there are a lot of good and honest people, who are always ready to help you in a difficult situation. Russia gave the world many celebrities. Among them are: Dmitry Mendeleev, Mikhail Gorbatchev, Fyodor Dostoyevsky and many others. If in Russia somebody invited you for dinner expect that the hosts will feed you with great pleasure and possibly you will gain some weight, especially if it was a special day like somebody's birthday or a new year. It is better not to think that's dangerous for your health or you are on a diet. By the way the Russians like to drink a lot of alcohol and smoke cigarettes. The Russians value generosity very much. They can give you their last piece of bread if they see that you really need it. Sometimes or better to say they always don't expect nothing in return. Some of them can be indifferent as sometimes they can be in bad temper.

Russians are very proud that they have the biggest country in the world. One sixth part of the dry land on the earth it isn't a joke! It is unnecessary talk Russia is the biggest and unusual country in the world. Many Russian women and men are sure that it is best place to live in. Russians are rather emotional but somehow they keep inside the most of their thoughts. They can seem a bit odd and too much simple. Often they are not politically corrected at some nationalities. There is even the favorite comic TV program about people from the east. Some people there can speak too loudly and express their emotions especially at railway stations or on market places.

Faithful Russian women and scammers.

Most of Russian women unfortunately don't speak English. But they easily like to talk to foreigners on the street and often try to explain something in very bad English. Concerning to other languages I think it will be the same although they study at school the languages of the federal lands. Of course they study English or German at school but they very rarely use the audio technique to learn to understand those languages by ear and the big problem with the pronunciation too. I think in the republics of the former USSR there is the same situation.

Some Russian women think that all the foreigners who come to Russia or live in Europe or America are very rich. If some Russians meet foreigners they try to make money with them or to do something cunning to fish his money, especially some of beautiful Russian girls who are often scammers. So if the Russian beautiful girl speaks English well and you find her at several dating agencies in the web, be careful, she can be a scammer. What will you do if you know that the thing of your heart is a scammer? I think fake letters are the meanest business and a rather big quantity of young and silly girls have to make money in such a dirty way. May be this situation exists because there is no work for them in former USSR. They think that it is all right. That rich and gullible foreigner is very far, so why not to try to get some of his money. What is $50 for an American? What is $50 for a poor girl in deep Russia? Anyway the breach between poor people and rich people is of the essence bigger in Russia than in America. And the percent of poor inhabitants in Russia is huger too.

Once, I've read a story in a Russian newspaper about an Australian who wrote a letter to the former Russian president Putin; and complained him that he was scammed by a Russian girl through the Internet. Putin gave an order to puzzle out this disgraceful case. So a Russian man, former teacher of English was put in prison for one year for scamming. Now you can see the same situation in Ukraine too. Special officers discovered and display different scammers and pursue them. I think it is right. It should been done because the scammers dishonor the country and the nation like other thieves+

Strange and weird character of Russians.

What is good for Russians?

Nowadays there are a lot of incidents when Russian fascists kill black and Asian guests in Russia but as far as I know the most of Russians hate racists. They were grown up in tolerant world when all people are equal and the friendship of nationalities and races were the main political direction of the soviet government. Many Russians like to drink some vodka; they like to gather a good company, to have a chat and sometimes to sing their favorite songs. But not all of them are alcoholics. Some people think sometimes that Russians are all drunkards. It seems they have a special resistance to the alcohol. They say what poison and death is for a German (all foreigners in old Russia), for the Russian it is good for health. A famous Russian writer Maxim Gorkij said: "I hate the drunkards. I understand those who drinks. I distrust those who don't drink at all." And it seems Russians keep strength from it and it warms their clean hearts during the long cold winters. But not all Russians can control their habits. Now alcoholism is a big problem in Russia and many Russian women don't want to marry habitual drunkards and have children with them.

Russians are very strange and weird. Some people think that a sudden change from communism and that strong total system to capitalism which has system making a person to work a lot. This interesting topic deserves a deep research and exploration. But it takes a lot of time and money for such kind of a research. Shortly to say I can assure you that all the republics of former USSR nowadays has a system of living which could be called as a wild capitalism. There are a lot of difficulties concerning medical service, police and all kinds of business. Everything is different and unlike it's in Europe.

Learn real Russian character through understanding of Russian traditions.

Russians believe in the strange thing as magnetism and glamour. The sun sends certain electro-magnetic signals and this affects the course of events on the earth including our mood and feelings. So, if you see two housewives discussing how bad their day went by because of the electro-magnetic storm that happened in the afternoon don't think they are adepts of some sort of new age philosophy it's rather often Russia. Russians are superstitious. And if you shake hands when you say hello to each other; you shouldn't do it through the doorstep. It means that there can be a quarrel between you. If you suddenly come back to your house just after you left, you should look quickly at the mirror it's for luck. If a young lady sits at the corner at a party table she won't be got married for some years. If a fork falls a woman can come if a knife falls a man can come as a guest.

Most of Russians know just some words in English which had been learnt at far school years. There are a lot of different kinds of adverts, banners etc. in Russian streets. Russians learn English at school and many people can understand the basic. Russians like to have fun but how to do it the point of view is rather original. So, if you want to feel real Russian character you should come to a festival to Russia and get pleasure from the kind and adventuring atmosphere. Anyway it always takes some time to understand the character of the whole nation. There is a rather spread proverb that the Russia can not be understood with the intelligence. One only may believe in Russia. Russians tradidions are interesting and wonderful.
